Sexual Infidelity   Leave a comment

Published in today’s Daily Mail is a double-page article written by my good friend Zelda West-Meads (Relationships Counselor and ‘Agony Aunt’) about females tempted into illicit relationships.
You should read it; interesting examples of using Internet dating sites and how innocent beginnings can grow so easily into adultery, with inevitable family break-ups.

Zelda’s book, To Love, Honour and Betray, is published today by Thistle, and costs only £10.00.

I began this blog by declaring that Zelda West-Meads is my good friend. She will be recommending readers of YOU Magazine, published on Sept 3 by the Mail on Sunday, that they buy my book Exploring Sex, Love and Lust.

What are friends for, if not to help each other out! Good luck with your book Zelda – and loads of interesting stuff to learn, if you might be tempted, dear readers
.
Happy Love-making.

MY TYPE OF WOMAN   Leave a comment

When I was 16, I got a girlfriend, but there was no passion. So, I decided I needed a passionate girl with a zest for life. In college, I dated a passionate girl, but she was too emotional. Everything was an emergency; she was a drama queen, cried all the time and threatened suicide. So, I decided I needed a girl with stability.

When I was 28, I found a very stable girl but she was boring. She was totally predictable and never got excited about anything. Life became so dull that I decided that I needed a girl with some excitement.

When I was 35, I found an exciting girl, but I couldn’t keep up with her. She rushed from one thing to another, never settling on anything. She did mad impetuous things and made me miserable as often as happy. She was great fun initially and very energetic, but direction-less. So, I decided to find a girl with some real ambition.

When I turned 42, I found a smart ambitious girl with her feet planted firmly on the ground and married her. She was so ambitious that she divorced me and took everything I owned.

I am now 55 and am looking for a girl with really big tits.

(I hope I don’t have to tell you that this is supposed to be a joke – but it does illustrate how confused men can be about relationships.)

Happy love-making

The Wrong Blood!   Leave a comment

For a study carried out for Ordu University in Turkey, researchers took blood samples from 350 men in their sixties and split them into two groups according to whether they had erectile problems.

The results revealed men with types A, B, or AB were three to four times more likely to flop in the bedroom than those with blood type ‘O’. Just 16% with O blood types had problems, compared with 42% of those with A blood types.

Happy love-making, whatever your blood type!

Brainy People Have Most Sex   Leave a comment

Having sex frequently may help improve brain function as we age. Researchers at Coventry University found over-50s who had the most sex also scored highest in brain tests.
We reckon that the hormones dopamine and oxytocin released during sex improve connectivity between different parts of the brain.
Maybe there’s some truth when your friends say you keep your brains in your trousers!
Happy love-making.

Stay Positive – Stay Sexy   Leave a comment

A good reason to stay positive as you age:

Researchers at the University of Waterloo in Canada interviewed 1,170 people in their 40s and 70s about their attitudes to ageing and sex, and found that those with less positive views on getting older, enjoyed and desired sex less.

This was reported in The Journal of Sex Research. So, if you want to keep it up right into old age, stay positive!

Happy love-making.

Sexy Brains   Leave a comment

Having sex more often improves brain function!

Those who keep their sex life active right through to their golden years were found to have improved fluency and spatial skills, helping in old age, a study by Oxford and Coventry Universities found.

Sex, as I’ve described in my book, Exploring Sex, Love and Lust, releases the ‘feel good’ hormone dopamine into the brain, helping with complex mental tasks. Lead author, Dr Hayley Wright, said: ‘This study shows that more sex at an older age is linked with better brain power …. it is a reminder that it is important to maintain intimate relationships as you age.’ She went on to say, ‘There is still a taboo, where older people don’t want to talk about having sex, and some people don’t want to think about it, but this shows it could be very positive.’

Researchers at Coventry University, in a previous study, found having sex improved older people’s memory – but didn’t look at how often participants had sex. The updated study, published in the Journals of Gerontology, Series B, and reported in the Daily Mail in the UK, asked 73 people aged between 50 and 83, how often they had sex in the previous 12 months – either not at all, or monthly, or weekly.

In tests of their brain power, those who had sex weekly scored 2% higher than those who did every month … and their cognitive abilities were 4% better than those who had been celibate for the past year.

So, clearly, if you want to keep the old brain cells going well into old age, you need to keep up the frequent sex!

Happy love-making,

Dame Helen Mirren   Leave a comment

Did you read Dame Helen’s little bit of home-spun philosophy, when she was addressing young graduates with one of her top tips for life?

“Don’t confuse sex with love. Love generally lasts more than two minutes.”

Advice rarely gets any better than that!

Happy love-making.
